Recently we moved a Commander 15 Cargo loader to Montreal to meet a very tight deadline for the G7 summit. The cargo loader being 4.4 metres wide and 3.2mtrs long has been used to offload / load Prime Ministers, Head of States and other dignitaries cargo.

Last week, Mike Kane, MP for Wythenshawe and Sale East attended our official groundbreaking ceremony, to formally mark the start of construction of our new 40,000 sq ft warehouse facility in Sharston.
The warehouse and office facility is being built on 2.8 acres of prime development land. The site is less than a kilometre from our head office on Leestone Road, and adjacent to our historic Grade II listed warehouse on Harling Road.
The additional space will be used as a further storage for 3PL clients, which range from importers of toys, clothes and furniture.
Completion is scheduled for January 2018 and it will create 20 new jobs with 10 existing employees also moving from head office.
Our CEO, Brian Hay said: “Our 38,000 sq. ft. head office and Harling Road facilities were at full capacity, it was vital that we looked for additional space. The 2.8 acres next to the existing building have allowed us to build our third facility in the Wythenshawe area and create more local jobs.”
Brian added: “We are continuing to see impressive growth at Cardinal Maritime and, as a result, we are actively looking for potential new sites in the local area to construct further warehousing space. As a company, we are committed to the local area and developing local talent. Our aim is to train and inspire the next generation of freight professionals here in Wythenshawe.”

A few lucky members of Team Cardinal had a specially arranged tour at Manchester Airport yesterday. John and Jonathan form the Airfreight team, Emma from Cardinal 3PLus and Tom from our Warehouse were the lucky few that attended the tour arranged by Gareth Dyos of Network Airline Services, (UK GSA for Etihad Cargo).
The tour started with a warehouse tour of Dnata, then the group watched the Etihad EY022 flight being loaded for its flight to Abu Dhabi. The aircraft was a Boeing 777-300 which can hold 100m3 or 10 airline pallets worth of freight.
What a great experience for the group to see the operations at airports firsthand. Big thanks to the host for arranging the visit.
Team Cardinal took over The Wellspring’s kitchen last Wednesday 29th June serving a 3 course meal for homeless and disadvantaged people in Stockport.
As a group we continue to support The Wellspring and this was a great opportunity to help make a difference and understand the work that takes place at The Wellspring. It also provided a chance to meet the people that make it all happen first hand. We thank the team for their wonderful support and are glad to hear that they really enjoyed themselves!
The Wellspring is a cause that Cardinal Maritime have supported for some time now and we thought it’d be good to give their other volunteers a night off and roll our sleeves up and get into the heart of the action. The Wellspring actively engages with homeless people, providing advice and support as well as referrals into housing or supported accommodation. The staff at the centre have supported over 700 people into housing of some description. All of these people were sleeping rough on the streets of Stockport or Manchester at some time.
Cardinal Plus are proud to announce the recent acquisition of our slave roller bed pallet at our Leestone Road facility.
Slave Pallets are devices that allow fork-lift trucks to lift-and-carry ULDs while properly supporting the fagile container base.
The audit, signed today by Senior Airfreight Manager John McBride and Andrew Galloway of KLM Cargo / Air France Cargo, allows Cardinal Plus to compete at the very highest level, demonstrating the ambitions and advanced requirements of our rapidly growing airfreight department.
The Cardinal Trust has proudly donated a van to The Wellspring charity. As you know, The Wellspring is a resource centre for homeless and disadvantaged people in Stockport and a charity we’ve supported for sometime now.
The van will be used to collect donations from homes and businesses and to transport donations from storage etc. The van will be a great asset and resource for the charity but also gives one of their volunteers, Nicky, the opportunity of his very first paid job. Nicky originally used the services of The Wellspring, with them supporting his rehabilitation from drug addiction and a life of crime and with their support started volunteering everyday and has done now for the last two years. With Cardinal Maritime’s donation of a van, Nicky can now start his new job of being a van driver for 15 hours a week of paid work.
