This year, we’re proud to once again be supporting the Lalley Toy Appeal.
Team Cardinal have surpassed last year’s efforts by by donating a fabulous range of toys and gifts that will make a huge difference to under-privileged children in our local area on Christmas morning who wouldn’t otherwise receive anything.

We’re delighted to donate £500 to the very worth cause, Donna’s Dream House. Team Cardinal cycled over 60 miles to raise the donations but it was certainly worth it.
We’ve supported Donna’s Dream House for many years now. It’s a charity based in Blackpool, providing free holiday experiences for children and teenagers with life-threatening illnesses and for recently bereaved siblings and their families.

It is that time of year again and Team Cardinal will be racing to the finish when taking part in the annual Manchester to Blackpool bike ride.
We will be cycling over 60 miles starting our journey at the Imperial War Museum, Manchester, following the scenic country lanes of Lancashire and then crossing the finish line on the South Promenade in Blackpool.
We will be raising money for Donna’s Dream House Charity in Blackpool, which is a locally based charity riding free holiday experiences for children and teenagers with life-threatening illnesses and their families and for recently bereaved siblings and their families. Whilst the voluntary team of Donna’s Dream House provides the expertise, enthusiasm and administration, it is the generosity of many companies and individuals raising money that makes their dream a reality.
Each year we aim to raise more money for Donna’s Dream House and this year we are hoping to smash our target of £500 when cycling to the finish in 2016. To achieve this, any donations, no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated.

They also campaign on behalf of children and young people in care, carers and adoptive families. To find out more about TACT, click here.
The team at the centre were extremely appreciative of our donation which will be used by children that are going through either the fostering or adoption process
Cardinal Maritime Group were delighted to sponsor the Rising Star Award at The Prince’s Trust Celebrate Success Awards last night.
The event took place at St George’s Hall in Liverpool and brought together supporters, staff, volunteers, Trust-supported young people and other members of The Prince’s Trust community.
The Rising Star Award recognises young people who despite having faced substantial personal obstacles are in sustainable employment as a result of a Prince’s Trust programme.
Ryan Smith won the award having overcome bullying, caring for his disabled father and developing anger issues when he could no longer cope. His anxiety affected his confidence and health but The Prince’s Trust Team programme helped Ryan find his strengths and let his confidence follow. Ryan now works as a cameraman for a local housing association.
Ryan was delighted to win the award which was presented by our Financial Director Liam McGonagle.
Team Cardinal have surpassed themselves today donating a fabulous range of toys and gifts that will make a huge difference to under-privileged children in our local area on Christmas morning.
Don’t forget we’re collecting toys until 27th November. So if you have anything at home that you could spare, it would be appreciated. The appeal is specifically requesting girls toys for ages 1 – 11 yrs and boys toys for ages 6 – 11 yrs along with board games, puzzles, stocking fillers, arts & crafts, books and colouring books. They have plenty of teddies and footballs. As an official drop-off point for the appeal, we will store any donations here and deliver them directly to the appeal.
Next Wednesday 4th November we’re taking over The Wellspring’s kitchen to cook a 3 course meal for homeless people in Stockport.
The Wellspring is a resource centre for homeless and disadvantaged people. It’s a worthy cause that Cardinal Maritime have supported for some time now and we thought it’d be good to give their other volunteers a night off and roll our sleeves up and get into the heart of the action. The Wellspring actively engages with homeless people, providing advice and support as well as referrals into housing or supported accommodation. The staff at the centre have supported over 700 people into housing of some description. All of these people were sleeping rough on the streets of Stockport or Manchester at some time.
We would be delighted if any of our clients would like to join us. If you’re interested in helping out, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cardinal Maritime has also sponsored The Wellspring as part of their 365 Campaign, which is The Wellspring’s call to local businesses to donate £365 annually to keep The Wellspring open for a nominated day each year. We nominated 6th October as that was the date of Cardinal Maritime’s Incorporation.
Members of the Team Cardinal Tough Mudder team visited Wythenshawe Hospital to deliver a £3000 cheque to the Manchester Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre last Friday. The team at the centre were delighted to receive such a large cheque and really showed their admiration.
Well done to everyone that took part in Tough Mudder, tackling all that mud and the many crazy obstacles. The Tough Mudder team members that visited the Centre all agreed that chatting to the Cystic Fibrosis team and seeing their appreciation made all the effort worthwhile.
Our colleague Chris Grogan, who is a patient at the Centre was over the moon with what his colleagues have achieved.
